PRODUCTION PROCESS
All our timber is logged in 8-12 ft lengths with a minimum
girth of 6 ft or 18 qg.
Logs are stacked in shade for up to a year to relieve stress
prior to milling. Once milled, dry Sycamore strips are used
to seperate planks, thereby eliminating the problem of staining.
The milled logs are then strapped to avoid movement and stacked
correctly in a large barn with space to allow continuous airflow,
facilitating the drying process.
The moisture content of our air dried supply is reduced to
approximately 22%. Kiln drying facilities allow this to be
further adjusted to suit customer requirements.
